Get the nostalgic look of hand-drawn anime from the 1990s. Describe a moment (a train at dusk, a rooftop confession, a mecha launch) and get it back as a retro anime clip.

How to make a 90s anime clip

  1. Describe the moment: characters, setting, light and action.
  2. Attach a reference image (optional), or switch on First & last frame to open on your own picture.
  3. Choose shape, length and resolution and generate.

Tips

  • Golden hour and city lights suit the era's palette.
  • Quiet moments work as well as action: wind in hair, steam from a bowl, a passing train.
  • Make a series: keep the same character description across clips.

FAQ

What does the 90s look include?

Cel-shaded characters, painted pastel backgrounds, soft film grain and the slightly faded colors of anime from that era.

Can I animate my own character?

Yes. Attach an image as a reference and the character, product or place in it stays the same in the clip. To open on your own image instead, switch on First & last frame.

How long are the clips?

Any length from 4 to 15 seconds, in 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 1:1 or 21:9, at 480p, 720p or 1080p.

How much does it cost?

On the Standard speed, 300 credits per second at 480p, 600 at 720p and 1,500 at 1080p; an 8-second clip at 720p uses 4,800 credits. The Fast and Mini speeds cost less, from 150 credits per second. The composer shows the price before you generate.

Who can use it?

It's available on paid plans.
