Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance Seed's film-grade video model. Write a scene, attach images if you have them, and it renders a cinematic clip of 4 to 15 seconds with native audio, at 480p, 720p or 1080p.
What you can do with it
- Text to video. Describe a shot and get a clip with sound.
- References. Attach images and sound clips of characters, products, places or voices, and the clip is built around them. Up to 10 files per run.
- First and last frame. Switch on First & last frame, add the opening frame (required) and, if you like, a closing frame. The clip moves from one to the other.
How to use it
- Describe the shot in the composer.
- Attach references or, with First & last frame on, your start and end frames.
- Set the chips: speed, aspect ratio, duration, resolution and sound.
- Check the price in the composer, then generate.
Writing prompts for Seedance 2.0
Leave length, size and shape to the chips and use the prompt for the shot itself. A useful order is subject, action, setting, look, camera, sound.
- One moment per clip. Describe a single continuous action rather than a list of events.
- Name the camera move. Slow push-in, handheld follow, locked-off wide shot, overhead top-down.
- Show feelings through behavior. "He taps the table and looks at the door" films better than "he is impatient".
- Describe the sound. Rain on a tin roof, a crowd murmuring, no music.
- Starting from a frame? Describe what changes: the motion, the camera and the sound, not what is already in the picture.
Example prompt:
- A street-food cook flips noodles in a flaming wok at night, steam rising under a red lantern. Handheld close-up that drifts out to a medium shot. Sizzling oil, chatter from the crowd, distant traffic.
Choosing settings
- Speed: Standard (default), Fast or Mini. Each step down costs less per second.
- Aspect ratio: 16:9 (default), 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 1:1 or 21:9.
- Duration: 4 to 15 seconds, default 8.
- Resolution: 480p, 720p (default) or 1080p.
- Sound: on by default.
- First & last frame: off by default.
- Web search: off by default, in the advanced settings panel.
Credits per second of video:
| Speed | 480p | 720p | 1080p |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 300 | 600 | 1,500 |
| Fast | 250 | 500 | 1,250 |
| Mini | 150 | 300 | 750 |
The price is the per-second rate times the duration, so a 4-second Mini clip at 480p is 600 credits and a 15-second Standard clip at 1080p is 22,500. Test ideas at Mini and 480p, then re-run the one you like at full settings. The composer shows the exact price before you generate. For longer clips, see Seedance 2.5.
