Seedance 2.5 writes a short film from a paragraph. Describe the subject, what happens, the setting, the look and the camera, and it renders a clip with motion that holds together and sound that matches the action.
What you can do with it
- Text to video. Describe a scene and get a clip with sound.
- References. Attach up to 10 images and sound clips of characters, products, places or voices, and they stay consistent in the clip.
- First and last frame. Switch on First & last frame to set exactly where the shot starts and, optionally, where it ends.
How to write prompts for Seedance 2.5
Keep settings such as duration, resolution and aspect ratio in the composer's chips, and use the prompt for the shot itself. Most strong prompts combine six things:
Subject + action + scene + visual style + camera + sound.
A ceramicist in a linen apron lifts a still-wet bowl from the wheel and turns it toward the window.
A small sunlit studio, dust in the air. Warm, natural 35mm look, shallow depth of field.
Slow push-in from a medium shot to a close-up of her hands.
Soft wheel hum, birds outside, no music.
Describe one continuous moment rather than a list of events. If you want a cut, say so ("Cut to a close-up of…") and keep each shot simple.
Give the camera a job
Name the move and the framing: locked-off wide shot, slow dolly in, handheld follow, overhead top-down, rack focus from the cup to her face. One deliberate move reads better than several.
Write emotion you can see
"She's nervous" is hard to film. "She grips the railing and glances back twice" is easy. Describe the behaviour that shows the feeling.
Starting from an image
When you set a first frame, describe what changes from that frame: the motion, the camera and the sound. You don't need to describe what's already in the picture.
Choosing settings
| Goal | Duration | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Quick idea test | 4 s | 480p |
| Social post | 8 s, 9:16 | 720p |
| Hero shot | 12 to 15 s | 1080p |
Draft at 480p, where a second costs a fifth of 1080p, then re-run the version you like at full resolution.
