Take the moves from one video and give them to someone else. Add a reference video and a character image: the character performs the same motion, gestures and expressions. Good for dance trends, mascots, animated characters and pre-visualizing a scene.

How to recast a video

  1. Motion video: one person, clearly visible, 3 to 30 seconds.
  2. Character: an image of who should perform it, framed like the person in the video.
  3. Describe the character or setting (optional).
  4. Generate. It takes a few minutes.

Tips

  • Match the framing. A full-body character for a dance, a portrait for a talking clip.
  • Simple backgrounds in the character image give cleaner results.
  • Trim first. You pay per second of the motion video, so cut it to the part you need.

FAQ

What do I need?

A motion video of a person doing something (dancing, talking, walking) and an image of the character who should do it instead. The character can be a photo, an illustration or a 3D render.

What carries over from the video?

Body movement, head movement, gestures and facial expressions. The character's look, outfit and background come from the character image.

How long can the video be?

From 3 to 30 seconds. The result is as long as the motion video.

How much does it cost?

315 credits per second of the motion video, with a 3-second minimum. A 10-second video uses 3,150 credits. The exact price shows once the video is uploaded.

What works best?

One person in the video, fully visible and not cut off by the frame, and a character image with a similar framing: full body for full-body motion, head and shoulders for talking.

Can I recast a video of someone else?

Only with permission from the people in it, and never to make a real person appear to do something they didn't.
