Nano Banana Pro is Google DeepMind's Pro image model. It is built for crisp text, faithful edits and pictures assembled from up to 8 reference images, at up to 4K. Reach for it when the result has to match a brief closely: a product that must look exactly right, a layout with real words on it, or a scene combining several people and objects.

What you can do with it

  • Text to image. Describe a picture, including any words that should appear in it.
  • Faithful edits. Attach an image and describe the change, and say what should stay as it is.
  • Combine references. Attach up to 8 images of people, products, places or styles and describe how they come together.
  • Large files. Render at 4K for print, large screens or cropping.

How to use it

  1. Write your prompt in the composer.
  2. Attach up to 8 images to edit or follow.
  3. Choose the number of images, aspect ratio and resolution.
  4. Check the price in the composer, then generate.

Writing prompts for Nano Banana Pro

  • Spell out every word of text. Put it in quotes and say where it goes and how it should look: "a bold sans-serif title 'Night Market' across the top".
  • Label your references. "Use the jacket from the first image and the model from the second" is clearer than "use these".
  • List what must not change. Logos, faces, proportions and colors are worth naming when they matter.
  • Describe the finished image, not the steps: medium, lighting, composition and mood.

Example prompts:

  • A magazine cover with the attached portrait as the main image, the masthead 'Fieldnotes' in large serif letters at the top, and three short cover lines down the left side.
  • Place the attached lamp and the attached armchair in a bright Scandinavian living room, morning light, wide shot, the lamp switched on.

Choosing settings

  • Images: 1 (default) to 4 per run.
  • Aspect ratio: 1:1 (default), 3:4, 4:3, 2:3, 3:2, 4:5, 5:4, 9:16, 16:9 or 21:9.
  • Resolution: 1K (default), 2K or 4K.
  • Output format: PNG (default) or JPEG, in the advanced settings panel.

Pricing is per image: 225 credits at 1K, 225 at 2K and 300 at 4K, the same for new images and edits. Because 1K and 2K cost the same, 2K is the easy pick for everyday work, and 4K is there when you need the extra size. A run of four 4K images is 1,200 credits. The composer shows the exact price before you generate.
