Bring old prints back: scratches, dust, grain and blur cleaned up in one pass, with faces kept true to the original. Drop in a scan or a phone photo of a print and compare before and after with a slider.

How to restore an old photo

  1. Scan or photograph the print. Flat, evenly lit, no glare.
  2. Add it to the Old photo slot: JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB.
  3. Generate. It takes about 15 seconds.
  4. Drag the divider to compare, then download the PNG.

What it repairs

Damage Result
Scratches and creases Lines filled in to match the surrounding image
Dust and spots Removed
Film grain and scanner noise Smoothed without a plastic look
Softness Edges and faces sharpened

Tips

  • Restore before you crop. The model uses the whole picture for context.
  • Scan at a higher resolution than you think you need; 600 dpi for small prints.
  • Keep the original. Restoration makes choices about what was there; your scan is the record.
  • Want color? Restore first, then colorize in a separate step.

FAQ

What does the restorer fix?

Scratches, dust spots, film grain, noise and softness. It also sharpens faces and fine detail that blurred with age.

Will it colorize a black-and-white photo?

No. The restorer keeps the photo's original colors, so black-and-white and sepia prints stay that way. It cleans and sharpens; it doesn't repaint.

How should I scan the photo?

A flatbed scan is best. A phone photo works too: lay the print flat, avoid glare, fill the frame and keep the phone parallel to the print.

How much does it cost?

100 credits per photo.

What do I get back?

A PNG, often larger than your scan, plus a before-and-after view so you can check every scratch.
